This is now Vol. 4 of the Fat Tapes series. Seriously, if you’re not up on these tapes, you’re not up on shit you feel me? I was saying on my twitter how making these tapes is a bittersweet process; being able to dig through my archives to find tracks I haven’t heard or even thought about in years is awesome and a fucking amazing feeling- but it comes with knowing that some kid who never saw an LP in his life is gonna come along and take the music I spent years collecting for free. The plus side is I’m hoping these tapes are opening up some of these younger cats to rap that isn’t just Wu and Doom, and that shit from the 90’s wasn’t the same few albums they’re listening to on repeat. It’s weird because I feel this secretive hoarding shit is completely a NY thing… stemming from not telling heads where you got your Lo from when you were a kid, to not droppin the name of that bodega that still carries Country Club 40’s today. Whatever, sit back relax catch a contact sip that congac and enjoy Fat Tapes Vol. 4.
